Fulfilling a Dream & Expanding Dermatology Care
New Patient Appointments Now Available

In early 2015, I partnered with PenBay Medical Center & Waldo County General Hospital out of a desire to expand access to dermatology services in the Mid-coast area. I was keenly aware of the shortage of dermatologists in the region after working the previous two years in Portland and realizing that a large number of patients were routinely traveling close to 4 hours round trip for their appointments.
There was relative consensus within the local medical community that access to dermatology care was a critical issue and this was clearly demonstrated when my two day a week general dermatology schedule at the hospital was booking out to nearly twenty (yes... 20...) months.
Over the next two and a half years, I resolved that independent practice might afford the opportunity to recruit additional dermatologists to our region, and it was with this goal in mind that Camden Dermatology & Mohs Surgery was founded.
I am so thrilled to have Dr. Kimberly Hureth, MD M.Ed here with us as well as our dermatology PAs, Mr. Sam Cohen and our newest associate Ms. Jessica Hennen.
For the first time in perhaps a year or more, we have timely new patient openings with both Dr. Huerth as well as Sam Cohen. It feels incredible to know that what started with a desire and a dream is becoming a reality. What makes it even better is the knowledge that this accomplishment helps our community become healthier. In the last three weeks, we have diagnosed a large number of potentially catastrophic melanoma skin cancers and this has been possible in large part because of the expanded availability of new patient appointments.
We sincerely appreciate the opportunity to take care of our friends, our neighbors and our colleagues right here in the mid-coast. Thank you for trusting us with your care, and please feel free to share the good news with those you know are looking to become established with our practice.
